Committees

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is responsible for establishing the guiding principles of the EHR Association and for developing and implementing strategic plans.

Operations Committee
The Operations Committee manages membership criteria and materials and approves new members. They manage the election and appointment processes as well as the EHR Association annual budget process. 

Workgroups

Certification Workgroup 
Addresses both government and private sector efforts related to certification of EHRs. 

Patient Safety Workgroup 
Collaborates with member companies and stakeholders to advance the safe use of EHRs. 

Privacy & Security Workgroup 
Addresses efforts that relate to privacy and security of protected health information (PHI) managed or exchanged through an EHR. 

Public Health Workgroup
Focuses on late breaking news, case reporting/registries vaccines, operational reporting, and infrastructure to improve the state of public health. 

Public Policy Leadership Workgroup 
Facilitates leadership in key public policy initiatives of importance to EHR developers. 

Standards & Interoperability Workgroup 
Addresses efforts, both public and private, on the best use of standards to achieve nationwide interoperability. 

Value Based Care & Quality Programs Workgroup 
Focuses on the significant reform efforts underway in the United States toward value-based reimbursement, including efforts that extend beyond traditional EHRs, yet leverage EHR data. Focuses on opportunities and barriers to how EHRs can facilitate improvements in care quality. 

Task Forces

Artificial Intelligence Task Force
Established in 2024 to inform members on artificial intelligence legislation and other regulatory activity at the state and federal levels, as well as to discuss and develop best practices on AI development and deployment and closely follow industry trends. 

Information Blocking Compliance Task Force
Evaluates and provides guidance on Information Blocking requirements and impacts for EHR developers and customers. 

Privacy and Consent Task Force
Evaluates the current landscape to establish a practical roadmap to consistently administer and apply all applicable privacy rules and patient consent directives when sharing data across Health IT, particularly EHRs.

Social Determinants of Health and Health Equity Task Force
Focuses on member education, thought leadership and advocacy, and most importantly, understanding and dismantling the barriers to equitable care.
